Have questions before getting started?

Here are answers to some of the most common questions about therapy at Guided Threads Counseling & Recovery Services.

Who do you work with?

I currently provide individual therapy for adults ages 18 and older. A limited waitlist is available for adolescents ages 13–17, based on availability and clinical fit.

Where are you licensed to provide therapy?

I am licensed to provide psychotherapy to clients physically located in California, Georgia, Texas, and Pennsylvania at the time of their session.

Are sessions virtual?

Yes. Services are provided through a secure telehealth platform, allowing you to attend therapy from a private and comfortable location.

What concerns do you treat?

I work with clients experiencing concerns including anxiety, OCD, trauma and PTSD, depression, grief and loss, stress and burnout, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and substance use concerns.

What therapy approaches do you use?

Treatment is individualized and may incorporate CBT, EMDR, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), DBT skills, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, and client-centered approaches.

Do you accept insurance?

Select insurance plans may be accepted. Insurance participation varies by state and plan. We recommend verifying your behavioral health and telehealth benefits before beginning treatment.

Self-pay is also available.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours' notice when canceling or rescheduling an appointment. Late cancellations and missed appointments may be subject to a fee.

What happens if I'm late?

A 10-minute grace period is provided. Arrivals beyond 10 minutes may require the appointment to be rescheduled depending on the remaining session time and clinical circumstances.

How often will I attend therapy?

Frequency is based on your individual needs, treatment goals, and clinical recommendations. Many clients begin with weekly sessions, with frequency adjusted as treatment progresses.

How long will I need therapy?

There is no one-size-fits-all timeline. The length of treatment depends on your concerns, goals, progress, treatment approach, and individual needs. We will periodically review your progress together.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Your privacy is an important part of therapy. Information discussed during treatment is confidential, with specific exceptions required or permitted by law. These limits will be reviewed during the informed consent process.

What if I'm experiencing a crisis?

Guided Threads Counseling & Recovery Services is an outpatient practice and does not provide 24-hour crisis or emergency services.

If you are experiencing an immediate or life-threatening emergency, call 911 or visit your nearest emergency department. You may also call or text 988 for 24/7 crisis support in the United States.
